Semaglutide 1.5 mg Tablets

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that mimics the endogenous incretin hormone. It stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, suppresses glucagon secretion, slows gastric emptying, and promotes satiety — collectively improving glycaemic control and supporting weight reduction.

Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and as a chronic weight management agent in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related comorbidity.

The recommended maintenance dose is 1.5 mg taken orally once daily. Treatment is typically initiated at a lower dose and titrated gradually over several weeks to improve gastrointestinal tolerability. Tablets should be taken at the same time each day, with or without food.

Swallow the tablet whole with a sip of water. Do not crush, split, or chew. Take once daily at a consistent time. If a dose is missed, skip it and take the next dose as scheduled — do not double up.

Adults (18 years and older) with type 2 diabetes mellitus or requiring chronic weight management. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use with caution in patients with a history of pancreatitis or severe gastrointestinal disease.

Common: nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, decreased appetite. Less common: pancreatitis, gallbladder disorders, injection-site reactions (for injectable forms).

Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2); known hypersensitivity to semaglutide or any excipient; pregnancy.
